As a husband, father, and coach, there are moments in life that pull us closer to God’s calling. Recently, during a conversation with a neighbor about our roles as fathers and community members, I felt a nudge from the Holy Spirit to dig deeper into what it means to truly live out our faith in community. That prompted me to pick up Christian Community (LifeGuide Bible Studies) by Rob Suggs, and I’m genuinely grateful I did.

This ten-session Bible study is a powerful reminder of the gift we have in each other through Christ’s body, the church. Suggs does an exceptional job guiding us through the multifaceted aspects of Christian community—showing how loving and nurturing one another can reflect Christ’s love to the world. It beautifully emphasizes our Biblical calling to be salt and light, pushing us to move beyond passive participation into meaningful engagement in our neighborhoods and workplaces.

What struck me most were the themes of service, leadership, and compassion. Each session not only invites you to reflect deeply on Scripture but also offers practical ways to take action. It’s a stirring call for us as men to step up and engage our communities—something I’ve found further encouragement in as I seek to disciple men in my church group. Suggs helps ignite a fervor within us to serve the poor and broken, reminding us that true impact starts with our hearts and extends outward.

The layout of the study is straightforward and inviting. Each session is structured with thought-provoking questions, discussion guides, and impactful stories of transformation that have inspired me to take immediate steps in my own life. For instance, one session encouraged me to set aside time for a neighborhood gathering, which strengthened relationships not only with my neighbors but also with God.

One big takeaway for me was a shift in mindset regarding my role in the community. It challenged me to see every interaction as an opportunity for ministry, rather than just casual encounters. And you know what? It’s been a game-changer. I now approach daily conversations with a mindset of sharing God’s grace and love more openly.

If you’re looking for a way to step off the sidelines and engage in meaningful, Gospel-centered community action, I wholeheartedly encourage you to dive into Christian Community (LifeGuide Bible Studies). This isn’t just a study; it’s an invitation to live out our faith boldly and authentically in the world.

Let’s embrace our calling together, brothers. It’s time to get involved, serve with purpose, and make a real difference.
