The Stagnant Believer: How to recognize when you are stuck and steps to move you forward to your promiseland is published under the name Desert Rose. It is self published through Amazon. There is a Kindle edition under a separate listing, so check which format you are ordering.
What we could verify
The book exists and is available in paperback and Kindle. The author page describes Desert Rose as a Christian author, preacher, and speaker. The stated subject is spiritual stagnation: recognizing when you have stopped moving and taking steps to get going again.
What we could not verify
Everything else. We could not find the author’s real name, church, ministry, or any published work outside this listing. We could not find independent reviews from any source we would trust. We could not confirm the page count, the internal structure, or whether the book contains study questions or action steps.
An earlier version of this page stated confidently that the book contains study questions and suggested action steps suitable for men’s groups and mentoring cohorts. We have no basis for that claim and it has been removed.
Why we are saying so instead of writing a normal review
Anyone can publish a book on Amazon. That is genuinely good, and some of the most useful books in this space came out that way. But it also means the listing is the only thing standing between an author and a reader. There is no publisher who read the manuscript, no editor who pushed back, and no doctrinal review. For a book about business or hobbies that hardly matters. For a book teaching you about your walk with God, it matters a great deal, because you cannot check the author’s theology against anything.
We are not saying this book is bad. We are saying we do not know, and we are not going to pretend otherwise to fill a page.
The subject is a real one
Whatever this particular book turns out to be, spiritual stagnation is worth taking seriously. Scripture handles it directly. God tells Israel at Horeb that they have stayed long enough at this mountain and it is time to move on, in Deuteronomy 1:6. Most men who have been Christians for a while know exactly what that feels like: nothing is wrong, and nothing is moving.
What we would suggest
Use the Amazon preview before you buy. Read the opening pages and see whether the author handles Scripture carefully. If it reads well to you, it may serve you well.
