His Works: Knowing Christ Deeply from the HighQuest Series: A Review

His Works: Knowing Christ Deeply is part of the HighQuest series, Men on a Mission, and is credited to four authors: Ron Bennett, Bob Walz, Chuck Strittmatter, and Larry Glabe (ISBN 979-8-7724857-1-2). Our earlier review named none of them.

What it is

A study rather than a book to read through. The structure works through five truths about what God has done on our behalf, paired with five corresponding truths about who we now are in Christ. The pairing is the design: what he did, and what that makes you.

That is a sound and old approach. It is roughly how Paul builds most of his letters, doctrine first and identity second, and it is the opposite of the usual men’s-book order, which starts with what you should be doing.

It is part of a series

HighQuest is a multi-volume men’s discipleship series, so His Works is one installment rather than a standalone. Before buying, look at the full series and decide where you want to start, because these are designed to build. Ron Bennett has a long track record in disciple-making resources, which is the strongest signal here.

What we removed

The old review quoted the book saying “All of life is a school, and every event is a course for knowing God,” and quoted a reader saying “HighQuest! I keep coming back to this one.” We could not verify either quotation, so both are gone, along with an invented “Reviewer Reflections” section and an FAQ nobody asked.

We also could not verify the page count or the exact number of sessions. If you are planning a group calendar around it, check the contents in the preview first.

Where we land

A solid, unfashionable, doctrine-first study for a group of men who want to spend time on what is true before they get to what to do about it. Look at the whole HighQuest series before picking this specific volume.
