EPIC Disciple by Kyle Robinson is a structured discipleship guide for men, self-published in 2025. It is Book One of a series, and it is built around a fourteen-stage arc rather than a set of chapters.
First, some corrections to this page
Two things were wrong here and both are worth naming.
The title on this page read Epic Disciple: Book One: The Call. The published title is EPIC DISCIPLE: ONE: Being a Disciple, Maturing & Multiplying in Christ. “The Call” is not the book’s subtitle. It is the first stage inside the book, and treating it as the title would send you looking for a volume that does not exist under that name.
The tags on this page were Fantasy, Fiction, and adventure. This is not a novel. It is a discipleship curriculum. Those tags have been replaced.
The actual structure
This is the part worth knowing, because the shape of the book is the book. Robinson moves through fourteen stages in a deliberate order:
Call, then Cost, then Covenant, then Maturation, Multiplication, Attitude, Love, Obedience, Transformation, Brotherhood, Fruit, Power (the why), Power (the how), and finally Commissioning.
Two things stand out about that sequence. Cost comes second, immediately after Call, before anything about growth or fruit. And Commissioning comes last, meaning the whole thing is pointed at sending you out rather than at your own development. Robinson describes it as a commissioning rather than a class, and the ordering backs that up.
The subtitle names men explicitly as the audience, so unlike several other books we have reviewed recently, this one really is written for the reader this site is aimed at.
What we could not verify
It is independently published, and we found no independent review coverage, no publisher, and no biography for Kyle Robinson beyond the listing. We are telling you that rather than filling the gap.
We also could not confirm exactly which format this particular listing corresponds to. There are several closely related listings in the series, so check the format and the volume number before you click buy, particularly if you intend to get the whole series.
Note that we are not treating this as a mass-produced title. It is one carefully structured work with a named author, not a run of near-identical books, and it deserves to be judged on its contents.
What we removed
A sentence in quotation marks attributed to Robinson about radical obedience, and a testimonial from a “satisfied reader” about covenant friendships. Neither could be verified and both are gone, along with a paragraph claiming members of the Called to Better community had shared how the book changed them.
The claim that every chapter contains discussion questions could not be confirmed either, so it is no longer stated as fact. If a group format matters, check the preview.
Who it fits
A man who wants a defined path rather than a devotional, and who is willing to be told early that this will cost him something. The Cost-before-Fruit ordering will put some readers off, which is presumably the intent.
It also suits a pair or a small group, since stages like Brotherhood and Commissioning do not really work alone.
If you want something gentler, or something with a publisher and a track record behind it, this is not the obvious first pick. Use the preview and judge the writing for yourself, which on a self-published title is better evidence than any review.
