The Biblical Masculinity Blueprint: A Christian Man’s Guide to Attraction, Relationships, and Marriage in a Messed-up World is by Stephen Casper, published by Writer Launch in 2019.
What it actually covers
Attraction, dating, and marriage, in that order. That is a narrower and more specific subject than the title “biblical masculinity” suggests. This is not a general book on manhood; it is a book about how a Christian man relates to women, from the first interest through to a marriage.
The dating and attraction material is the part that distinguishes it. Very few Christian books for men address attraction directly rather than skipping from “be pure” to “here is marriage advice.” Casper works in that gap, which is genuinely useful for single men and largely irrelevant if you have been married twenty years.
Where it sits, and what to weigh
Books in this space often drift toward describing what women are like as a category and what a man should therefore do. That kind of generalization is where these books either help a man or teach him something that will not survive contact with an actual person.
Called to Better’s position is that men and women have different but equal roles, equal in worth and dignity, and that we do not define those roles past what Scripture plainly says. Where this book gets more prescriptive than that, treat it as one man’s counsel rather than as biblical instruction. Read it with that filter on and it has useful things in it.
What we removed
The old review quoted a reader saying “I did not know how out of focus my view of my wife was until this book helped me put my eyes solely on God.” We could not verify that quote and it is gone. The review also ran an invented FAQ.
It also used “As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another” without noting that this is Proverbs 27:17, not the author’s line. It is now clear where that comes from.
Where we land
Most useful for single or dating Christian men who want a frame for attraction and relationships that nobody at church seems willing to discuss plainly. Married men will get less out of it. Small independent press, so expect a book rather than a program.
